The 22 room home is filled with Theodore Roosevelt's books, paintings, flags, and hunting trophies, is maintained by the National Park Service, and is open to the public. The remainder of the site is open daily except for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. The Visitor Center/Bookstore is open daily from 9am to 4:30pm. The Theodore Roosevelt Museum at the Old Orchard House is open daily from 9am to 4:45pm. The Theodore Roosevelt home is open for tours from 9:30am to 4pm, Wedneday - Sunday. During the winter season, the Roosevelt home is closed for tours on Mondays and Tuesdays (except for President's Day).
